Basketball playoff assignments for Stigler, Quinton

Quinton will play host and Stigler will head on the road as Class 2A and 3A basketball playoff assignments were announced.

Stigler (6-12 girls, 5-13 boys) will go to Keys (11-7 girls, 13-5 boys) for Class 3A districts on Feb. 16. The first round of districts will be at Keys, with the ensuing rounds at Glenpool. The area site would be at Cleveland.

Quinton (10-9 girls, 12-7 boys) hosts Calera (7-13 girls, 4-14 boys) and Panama (8-10 girls, 16-4 boys) for Class 2A districts, which will be Feb. 16 and 17. Since Quinton girls have the best record of the girls teams in the district, they would play on Feb. 17 against the Calera-Panama winner. Since Quinton boys have the second-best record among the three district teams, they would play Calera in the first round on Feb. 16 and the winner would play Panama on Feb. 17.

Quinton goes to Broken Bow for regionals. If the Savages make the area playoffs, they would go to Wilburton.

Class 2A and 3A regionals are Feb. 22-24 and area playoffs are March 1-3.
