Here's a look at the area football slate for Week 8, including a big game for Stigler as the Panthers return to play after their bye week.

Oct. 20

Stigler (6-1, 2-0 Class 3A DIstrict 8) vs. Eufaula (6-1, 2-0 Class 3A District 8) 7 p.m.

Last week: Neither team played during Week 7.

Last meeting: Stigler 55, Eufaula 14 (Oct. 15, 2015)

Note: Stigler, which has won four straight games, can take the sole lead in the district with a win.

Porum (3-4, 0-2 Class B District 8) vs. Watts (6-1, 1-1 Class B District 8) 7 p.m.

Last week: Gans 46, Porum 24; Watts 44, Cave Springs 6.

Last meeting: This is the first meeting between Porum and Watts in football.

Note: This is Porum's last home regular-season game.

Quinton (1-6, 1-3 Class A District 8) vs. Pocola (4-3, 3-1 Class A District 8) 7 p.m.

Last week: Warner 14, Quinton 8; Pocola 40, Sallisaw Central 26

Last meeting: Quinton 14, Pocola 6 (Sept. 18, 2015)

Notes: Quinton has two district games left and must win both for a shot at the playoffs. The Savages have won their last four games against Pocola. The Indians have won three straight games.

Oct. 21

Keota (4-3, 2-0 Class B District 8) vs. Gans (4-3, 2-0 Class B District 8) 7 p.m.

Last week: Keota 64, Arkoma 14; Gans 46, Porum 24

Last meeting: Keota 56, Gans 6 (Oct. 30, 2015)

Homecoming information: Keota's homecoming parade starts at 4:45 p.m. The ceremony starts at 5:30 p.m.

Notes: Keota, which has won three straight, will be the top team in the district with a victory. The Lions have won the last four games against Gans.
